Indigenous Awareness Book Discussion Group
posted on: 29/10/17

St. Luke’s is exploring ways to build awareness of the stories and history of indigenous people in Canada and the relationships among us. As part of that initiative, we will be offering to facilitate discussion sessions about some interesting books on the topic. To participate, all you need is an interest in the book. You may have read it, be planning to read it, or wish to know more about it.

Our first discussion will take place on Sunday, November 26th at 11:45, after church. Grab a coffee and join us!

Our first book will be Indian Horse, by Richard Wagamese, who is Ojibwe from the Wabaseemoong Independent Nations in northwestern Ontario. The facilitators will be Pam Couture and Heather White (905-639-2922).

Future discussion groups will occur on January 21st for Sanaaq by Mitiarjuk Nappaaluk (Inuk), facilitated by Pam Couture, and on March 11th for Ragged Company by Richard Wagamese, facilitated by Lesley Emery. Both are Sundays at 11:45, after coffee hour.
