Parish Hall
![]() A letter on Our New Parish Hall written by our own Parish Vicar, REVEREND DR. SHARYN HALL In April 2001, several people gathered together for a parish planning day. One of the proposals on that day was the complete renovation of the parish hall to eliminate many problems with stairways, poor heating, flooding and crumbling plaster. Two committees were formed: one to oversee the design of the building, and one to raise funds. Many people devoted their expertise and hundreds of hours over five years to make the dream a reality. With much anticipation and thanksgiving, the new building was finally opened in the summer of 2006. The building is energy efficient in its lighting, heating and cooling. Access to the whole building is facilitated through automatic doors, an elevator and washrooms on each floor. The main kitchen is designed for maximum working space and efficiency, and there is a kitchenette on each floor. Rooms of various sizes are suitable for large or small gatherings. The parish is delighted to have this building for many activities on Sundays and throughout the week; however, the parish also wants the building to be a place of ministry for the larger community. Because the original parish hall was a memorial to those who died in WWI, the older facade of the hall was rebuilt in the same style, and the later additions made more modern. We aim to honour the dedication of the original hall in 1922 and ensure the parish will be active in the community. ![]() For Rental information please go to our Documents and Forms section |
